Best Nutella Eats

Nutella has been around since 1946, but in the past few years it has finally become more popular, and common, in the United States. Nutella began in Italy during World War II and was called Supercrema, which eventually turned into the Nutella we know and love today. Because of its beginnings in Italy, Nutella treats can be found in every city and in almost every cafe. With so many options, it can be hard to decide what Nutella eats you should try and what ones are a bust. Here is a short list of some of the best Nutella options that can be found all over Florence.

Nutella tart

Chiaroscuro - Via del Corso, 36r, 50122 Firenze FI

With pistachios as a topping, a Nutella tart from Chiaroscuro is the perfect sweet treat. Nutella is perfect with salty foods like nuts or pretzels. This tart is worth a try because this was the only cafe I saw in Florence that has a treat like this. There are many places with muffins or donuts, but this was the only tart I could find.

Nutella pizza

Pizzeria Riva d’Arno - Lungarno Soderini, 7, 50124 Firenze FI

If you are hesitant about ordering a pizza that is covered in Nutella for dessert, let me assure you, it is the best desserts I have had in my time in Florence. The Nutella pizza at Pizzeria Riva d’Arno is a specialty that they do not offer every night. It is a sweet crust with warm, melted Nutella and powdered sugar on top. It is the perfect way to end a meal after a savory pizza.

Nutella Mocchacino

News Cafe - Via del Giglio, 59, 50123 Firenze FI

The Nutella Mocchacino from News Cafe is one of the best coffee drinks I have ever had. The inside of the coffee cup is coated in Nutella that melts into your mocha coffee as you drink. There are many other Nutella drinks you can try in Italy, but this was by far my favorite. News Cafe is also a good spot to try other new coffees, they have a wide selection and make beautiful coffee foam art on your drink.

A Nutella coffee drink is also easy to make at home. Instead of sugar, putting a spoon of Nutella in a mug is sweet and tastes delicious.

Nutella croissant

Nutella croissants can be found at many cafes and bakeries around Italy. I have had several and they are all very good. You should search for a bakery that has fresh ones that are still warm so the Nutella is slightly melted.

Nutella crepe

La Milkeria - Borgo degli Albizi, 87, 50122 Firenze FI

The Nutella crepe at La Milkeria is a must-have while traveling in Florence. La Milkeria has many delicious treats and coffees, but the Nutella crepe with fruit is a great breakfast, lunch or sweet treat.

Nutella gelato

Amalo Gelato - Piazza Gaetano Salvemini 2 50122 Firenze Fl

The Nutella gelato at many shops in Florence have been a miss. They are either straight Nutella that is just frozen or they are overly sweet. But, at Amalo Gelato their Nutella gelato is the perfect mix of hazelnut without being overly sweet. I have the cone with banana and Nutella and it was by far one of the best gelato combinations I have had. You should definitely check out this spot for phenomenal gelato and cute picture spots.

Nutella gelato is great paired with both fruity and sweet flavors.

As a visitor to Italy, Nutella is a must-have in some shape or form. Whether it is in your coffee, in your breakfast or just out of the jar, you cannot visit Italy without trying their favorite spread.
